Keeping Receipts
Always store receipts for anything that could be a tax deduction, such as church or other charitable donations. Detailed hand written notes can also serve as documentation.
Store these receipts in an easy-to-reach location such as the front of the file cabinet or a coupon drawer. Use envelopes, folders, baskets, or trays to organize your receipts.
